There are a limited number of general entrance tickets (R230) going on sale from 12pm on Tuesday 26 April through Computicket.
These can be purchased online at www.computicket.com or from all participating Shoprite stores countrywide. There will also be a temporary Computicket kiosk at Hollywoodbets Greyville, Gate 9, from Thursday 28 April.
Under current legislation, all spectators at the Hollywoodbets Durban July will need to provide a valid Covid-19 Vaccination Certificate or negative PCR Test (taken within 72 hours of the event), together with their entrance ticket, in order to be granted access to the racecourse for the event.
Every year the Hollywoodbets Durban July delivers a mix of thrilling horseracing, live entertainment and exquisite fashion.
A general access ticket will provide spectators with a front row view of the racing action from the grandstand and track-side lawns, live DJ performances, as well as runway and public fashion competitions that will be hosted on two stages. Multiple pop-up bars, food trucks and comfortable shaded seating areas will ensure everyone in attendance will be able to enjoy the full 12-race programme and all the entertainment on offer in between races.
Whilst spectators are encouraged to use the Drop & Go facility at Gate 12, parking tickets for the golf course with access via DLI Avenue will also be available on Computicket at R170 per vehicle.
For those customers looking for five-star hospitality experiences, contact details of various marquees and venues synonymous with the event such as EQUUS, Boomtown, Pegasus Lounge, One Stop and many others are listed on the event website at www.hollywoodbetsdurbanjuly.co.za/hospitality-experiences. Customers purchasing hospitality packages for the day will be able to purchase their HDJ entrance ticket from the hospitality vendor.
KZN design students are already drawing inspiration from the 2022 theme, Show Me The Honey, in hope of standing a chance to win the coveted HDJ Young Designer Award competition which has seen past winners launch their fashion design careers. There will be various public raceday fashion competitions which will be detailed on the event website and via the official event social media handles.
Last week saw an initial entry of 68 of the country’s best thoroughbred racehorses that will try and secure one of the final 18 starting berths to do battle for the biggest prize in South African horseracing, with a highest ever stake of R5million.
Last year’s champion, Kommetdieding is the early ante-post favourite at 6/1 with Hollywoodbets, with his old adversary Linebacker next best at 10/1.
